$600k in grants to aid Qinghai quake victims

*

The Government has approved two grants from the Disaster Relief Fund totalling $600,000 to two agencies to undertake relief projects for earthquake victims in Qinghai.

ADRA China and Save the Children Hong Kong will each get $300,000 to provide relief to the victims.

This will bring the total amount of grants to help Qinghai earthquake victims to $117.34 million. Organisations given grants earlier on were the government authorities of Qinghai Province, the Amity Foundation, the Salvation Army and World Vision Hong Kong.

The Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee have asked the two relief agencies to submit evaluation reports and audited accounts after the projects have been completed to ensure money will be used for the designated purposes.
