Deputy Secretary for Transport & Housing (Transport) Philip Yung will take up the post of Commissioner for Tourism on February 1, replacing Margaret Fong who has left the civil service.

Mr Yung, 48, joined the Government in July 1983 serving initially as a Court Interpreter and later as an Assistant Information Officer. He joined the Administrative Service in July 1986 and rose to his present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade B1 in 2007.

Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue said Mr Yung is a seasoned Administrative Officer with rich experience in public administration and proven leadership and management skills. She is confident he will ably lead his colleagues to meet the challenges ahead.

She praised Miss Fong for her 24-year career in the civil service.
