The Security Bureau is investigating whether any Hong Kong people have been affected by today's strong earthquake in Haiti which caused a large number of deaths and casualties.

The Immigration Department and the Hong Kong Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are monitoring the situation. The department has not received any request for assistance so far.
