The Government has opened a recruitment exercise for about 25 Administrative Officer and 100 Executive Officer II candidates for appointment on civil service terms in 2009-10. Deadline for application is October 5.
All permanent Hong Kong residents who have the required academic qualifications, or those who are final year undergraduates going to obtain such qualifications within the 2009-10 academic year may apply. Those applying for the Administrative Officer post should have at least seven years of residence in Hong Kong.
Applicants must obtain 'Level 2' results in the two language papers, or equivalent results, and a pass result in the aptitude test in the common recruitment examination.
Those who have applied for the coming common recruitment examination and basic law test on October 10 and 17 in Hong Kong or on December 12 in Beijing and six overseas cities will have their applications processed subject to their obtaining the requisite results.
Qualified applicants possessing the requisite results will be invited to attend the joint Administrative Officer/Executive Officer recruitment examination on December 12. Candidates residing or studying outside Hong Kong may take the joint recruitment examination on the same date in Beijing or any one of the six overseas cities - London, San Francisco, New York, Toronto, Vancouver and Sydney. Assessment of Basic Law knowledge is also included in the recruitment.
Ads to be placed in local, overseas papers
Recruitment advertisements will be published in the South China Morning Post, Ming Pao and Sing Tao Daily today and on September 19 and 26, and on the Civil Service Bureau's website and GovHK.
The advertisements recruiting Administrative Officers will also appear in the overseas editions of Ming Pao and Sing Tao Daily today and again on September 26.
Application forms (CSB 606 and CSB 606A) (Rev. 9/2009) are available at the Civil Service Bureau website, or at the Home Affairs Department Public Enquiry Service Centres, and any job centre of the Labour Department Employment Services Division.
