Official launch: Permanent Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Joshua Law (second left) officiates at the official Hong Kong launch of Expo 2010 ticket sales.

A range of activities promoting Hong Kong will be held during the six-month World Exposition 2010 Shanghai China, including Hong Kong Week in October next year, Permanent Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Joshua Law says.

At the official Hong Kong launch of Expo 2010 ticket sales today Mr Law said the Government will organise promotional activities to promote the expo and raise the general public's awareness of and interest in Hong Kong's participation in it.

The Government will build a special expo website to promote Hong Kong's participation and provide another avenue for netizens around the world to learn more about Hong Kong.

"Our participation in the Shanghai Expo will provide a valuable opportunity to showcase our characteristics and strengths, and promote our broader commercial interests to international audiences. It will also help enhance the image of the HKSAR and strengthen our economic ties with the Mainland."

Expo tickets are on sale in Hong Kong via the China Travel Service network from today. The first sales period from April 2 to June 30 will offer tickets to institutions, companies and other organisations in Hong Kong. From July 1 onwards tickets will be available for individuals.

A Shanghai Expo Hotline 2998 7010 has been set up for ticket enquiries.
