Home Affairs Department

The 2008 provisional registers and the omissions list for Village Representative Elections is now available for public inspection during business hours until September 23.

Information includes the names and particulars of voters recorded in the Existing Villages register and the Indigenous Villages & Composite Indigenous Villages register.

Particulars of people no longer eligible for registration as voters are shown on the omissions list.

A full copy can be inspected at the Home Affairs Department Electoral Registration Officer's office, 30/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai from Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Relevant sections are also available at the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers offices at the respective New Territories District Offices.

Anyone who considers a person not eligible for registration or who should not be placed in a particular part of a register, may lodge in person a notice of objection with the Electoral Registration Officer or the relevant assistant officer by September 23.

Lodging a notice of claim

Anyone who has applied for registration but whose name is not recorded in the provisional registers or is included in the omissions list, or has a claim to make about his or her particulars in the registers, may lodge a notice of claim in person.

Those whose principal residential address is not in Hong Kong may submit their notice of claim by post, fax, electronic means with a digital signature supported by a recognised certificate, or through an authorised person, by September 23.

People can obtain notice of claim and notice of objection forms from the Electoral Registration Officer's office and the relevant assistant officer's office at the New Territories District Offices, or download them here. Questions? Call 2152 1521.
