Hong Kong's athletes' fighting spirit and determination won people's hearts, even if they did not win medals at the Beijing Olympics.

That was the message from Chief Executive Donald Tsang today, welcoming home the Hong Kong Olympic delegation. Mr Tsang applauded the athletes for their determination, which saw them break many Hong Kong records.

Their achievements and the successful co-hosting of the Olympic equestrian events were an important milestone in Hong Kong's sports history, he said, adding the Government will render full support to athletes and promote sports development.
