Chief Executive Donald Tsang has appointed the first batch of nine Hong Kong SAR Government political assistants, including Frankie Yip, Raymond Cheung, Jeremy Young, Linda Choy, Katherine Ng, Paul Chan, Caspar Tsui, Zandra Mok and Victor Lo.
Mr Tsang praised the appointees for their passion and commitment. He is confident they will help bureau secretaries and under-secretaries and work closely with the civil service to better serve Hong Kong.
The political assistants are named under the expanded political appointment system on non-civil service terms for the term ending June 30, 2012. The nine appointees are:
* Political Assistant to the Financial Secretary Frankie Yip;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Development Raymond Cheung;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Education Jeremy Young;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for the Environment Linda Choy;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Katherine Ng;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Food & Health Paul Chan;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui;
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Labour & Welfare Zandra Mok; and,
* Political Assistant to the Secretary for Security Victor Lo.
