Nicholas Ng has been re-appointed Public Service Commission Chairman for three years from May 1, the Civil Service Bureau says. Mr Ng was first appointed as the commission chairman in May 2005.
Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue said Mr Ng's extensive abilities and deep understanding of the civil service has helped the commission in fulfilling its role to ensure fairness and impartiality in appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service.
The commission is an independent statutory body to advise the Administration on appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service. It currently comprises a chairman and seven non-official members, all of whom are appointed by the Chief Executive.
