Acting CE mourns Tsui Sze-man's passing
*

Acting Chief Executive Henry Tang has expressed his profound sadness at the passing of Tsui Sze-man.

Noting Mr Tsui had served the country and Hong Kong with enthusiasm and strong dedication, Mr Tang offered his deepest condolences to Mr Tsui's family.

"As a patriotic overseas Chinese leader, he was a Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Standing Committee Member and the National People's Congress delegate. He provided valuable opinions and counsel on the development of the country.

"Through his work as a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and a Hong Kong affairs adviser, he also made significant contributions to Hong Kong's smooth reunification with the motherland and the implementation of 'One country, two systems'," Mr Tang said.

"Mr Tsui was engaged in the cultural sector and was a political commentator. He will be remembered for his discerning mind and outspokenness. The Administration joins me in extending our deepest condolences to Mr Tsui's family."

He was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 1997.
