HKEx

The Financial Secretary has appointed Edmond Lau to succeed Eddie Yue as a Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Risk Management Committee member for two years from September 1.

Mr Lau is currently the Monetary Authority Executive Director responsible for strategy and risk. From September 1 Mr Lau will also be responsible for monetary management and financial infrastructure, when Mr Yue becomes Deputy Chief Executive for monetary management, financial infrastructure, reserves management, and strategy and risk.

The Risk Management Committee was established in March, 2000, with the statutory role to formulate policies on risk-management matters relating to the activities of HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the HKEx Board. The committee is headed by HKEx Chairman Ronald Arculli, with serving members Chan Ka-lok, Fong Hup, He Guangbei, Keith Lui, Marvin Cheung and Bill Kwok.
