New registrar: Ada Chung has been appointed Registrar of Companies.

*

Ada Chung has been appointed Registrar of Companies from August 27 to succeed the retiring Gordon Jones.

Ms Chung, Department of Justice Deputy Law Officer, was selected for the post through in-service appointment.

Secretary for the Civil Service Denise Yue said Ms Chung has a strong professional background in legal and accountancy services with good managerial and administrative experience.

"I have every confidence that she will continue to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in her new capacity, and ably lead the Companies Registry to meet the challenges ahead," she said.

Miss Yue also praised Mr Jones' dedicated and commendable service. In his capacity as the Registrar of Companies over the past 14 years he had revolutionised the manner in which the registry provides its public services and has played a leading role in company law and corporate governance reform.
