The Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Bureau says 550 requests under the Code on Access to Information were received in the second quarter this year.

 

This brought the total requests received since the code launched 12 years ago to 22,847. Of them, 20,431 (89%) were met, either in full (19,966) or in part (465). Only 449 requests (2%) were refused.

 

A total of 1,085 requests (5%) were withdrawn and in respect of 787 requests (3%) the bureau or department concerned did not have the information asked for. At the end of June, 52 requests were still being processed.
