The Chief Executive has appointed members to the Financial Reporting Review Panel for three-year term starting July 16.
The panel will inquire into accounting non-compliances of listed corporations and collective investment schemes or listed entities.
When an inquiry case arises, the council will appoint one convenor and four or more panel members to form a Financial Reporting Review Committee. Click here for the appointment list.
The committee will inquire into cases of non-compliance with legal, accounting and other regulatory requirements by listed entities in their financial reports. It will submit an inquiry report on the case to the council for consideration and follow-up action.
The council is a major initiative to enhance the accounting profession regulation and corporate listed companies' governance. The panel is an important component of the new regulatory regime and is indispensable to the discharge of the council's statutory functions.
