Pang Yiu-kai has been reappointed Quality Education Fund Steering Committee Chairman for two years from July 1, the Education & Manpower Bureau says.

Committee member Wong Kwan-yu was reappointed until January 15, 2009.

The Quality Education Fund was formed in 1998 with $5-billion capital to fund community initiatives promoting quality education. The committee was formed to advise on the fund's policies and operation.

Since its establishment the fund has supported 6,357 projects with total grants amounting to $3.35 billion.
