Kowloon City by-election nominations to open

*

The nomination period for the Kowloon City District Council Hung Hom Bay Constituency by-election will run June 13 to 27 to fill the vacant office of an elected member.

The Registration & Electoral Office said today that if there is more than one validly nominated candidate, a poll will be held July 29.

A nominee must be a registered geographical constituency elector aged 21 or above and living in Hong Kong for the three years immediately before nomination. Ten registered electors of the constituency must be subscribed to each nomination. Each elector is allowed to subscribe to only one nomination.

The nominee must personally hand in the completed nomination form, together with a $3,000 election deposit, to the Returning Officer for the by-election within the nomination period. Apart from general holidays, nominations are accepted from 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays, and from 9am to noon Saturdays.

The Kowloon City District Officer has been appointed as the Returning Officer. His office address is Rooms 1706-1713, One Harbourfront, 18-22 Tak Fung Street, Hung Hom.

Nomination forms can be downloaded here. All nominees should submit their nominations as early as possible so they will have time to rectify mistakes before the deadline.
