Tai Po by-election to be held Sunday
*

Tai Po District Council Hong Lok Yuen constituency electors are urged to vote in tomorrow's by-election. Three polling stations - Kai Chi, Yuk Yin and Hong Lok Yuen International Schools - will be open from 7.30am to 10.30pm.

The two candidates are Ho Kwok-keung and Tang Yau-fat. The winner will fill a vacant seat in the Tai Po District Council.

It will take just a few minutes for people to vote. An elector has to show their identity card at the polling station, use the chop provided to stamp the ballot paper with a tick in the circle opposite the name of the chosen candidate and put it into the ballot box.

The polling stations are restricted areas accessible only to electors and authorised people. Unauthorised people are strictly prohibited from using mobile phones, taking photographs, filming or making video or audio recordings in the polling stations.

An election hotline 2891 1001 will run from 7am to 11pm to answer enquiries. A complaints hotline 2827 7251 will also operate from 7.30am to 10.30pm.

Once the poll is closed, the polling stations will be turned into counting stations, and people are welcome to watch the counting of votes. The Returning Officer will announce the election results at Kai Chi School.
