Dr Alice Lam has been appointed Education Commission Chairman for two years from May 1.

Welcoming the appointment, Secretary for Education & Manpower Prof Arthur Li said Dr Lam will be able to lead the commission in advising the Government on the different domains of education with a view to enhancing Hong Kong's education quality.

Prof Li also thanked outgoing chairman Dr Rosanna Wong for her contribution in the past six years.

"We are particularly grateful to her for her insightful advice and staunch support as she led the Education Commission in taking up the unprecedented challenge of overseeing the launching of the various education reform initiatives," Prof Li said.
