The Home Affairs Bureau saw 605 requests for data under the Code on Access to Information in the fourth quarter of 2006.
This brought the total requests received since the code launched 12 years ago to 21,630. Of them, 19,337 (89%) were met, either in full (18,895) or in part (442). Only 425 requests (2%) were refused.
Some 1,030 requests (5%) were withdrawn and in respect of 735 requests (3%), the bureau or department concerned did not have the requested information. At the end of December, 60 requests were still being processed.
