Connie Lau will become Chief Executive of the Consumer Council, succeeding the retiring Pamela Chan from April 1.

Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Stephen Ip welcomed the appointment, saying Ms Lau has worked as the council's Deputy Chief Executive and gained deep understanding of Hong Kong's consumer affairs.

Mr Ip thanked Mrs Chan for her valuable contribution both to the council and in promoting consumer awareness.
