Two valid nominations were received for the third term Chief Executive Election at the close of the nomination period today.

The nominations were handed in by candidates Alan Leong and Donald Tsang on February 14 and 16. Both nominations were ruled valid by Justice Barnabas Fung on the same days they were received.

A notice of nominations, which carries the candidates' names and the Election Committee members who have subscribed to a nomination, will be gazetted on March 7.

The election will be conducted March 25 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The first round of voting will start at 9am and close at 11am.
