Shirley Chan has been appointed the Ocean Park Corporation Board member from January 1 to December 31, 2008, the Economic Development & Labour Bureau says.

Ms Chan is a Quality Tourism Services Committee member, Hong Kong Chinese Manufacturers' Association executive committee member and Retail Management Association Vice-chairman.

Ms Chan has rich experience in the commercial sector and retail marketing which will be useful in assisting the corporation in mapping out its marketing strategy.

The bureau thanked outgoing member Eden Woon for his active involvement in the board's work and valuable contribution to the park's business and development.

The board is a statutory body established under the Ocean Park Corporation Ordinance to manage and control the park as a public recreational and educational park.
