The Immigration Department has appointed another 26 civil celebrants of marriages, boosting the total number to 1,097.

Civil celebrants have tied the knot for more than 6,000 couples since April.

From April to late November, about 8,500 couples filed their marriage notice through civil celebrants.

December is normally one of the peak months for marriages.
