Charismatic city: National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo says Hong Kong's success in hosting the ITU Telecom World 2006 has shown its charm to the world.

National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo hopes that with the efforts from the Hong Kong Government and various sectors, Hong Kong can consolidate and develop its hard-won good circumstances.

 

Mr Wu concluded his three-day visit to Hong Kong and left the city this morning. Speaking to the press at the airport, Mr Wu said Hong Kong's success in hosting the ITU Telecom World 2006 has shown its charm to the world.

 

He said he was deeply impressed that Hong Kong's society was stable and harmonious, and full of vitality.

 

Seeing him off at the airport were Chief Executive Donald Tsang, Chief Secretary Rafael Hui, Financial Secretary Henry Tang, Secretary for Justice Wong Yan-lung, Legislative Council President Rita Fan, and Executive Council Convenor Leung Chun-ying.

 

Also at the airport to bid farewell to Mr Wu were 140 primary students from the HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School from Tung Chung.
