Hong Kong has a fine tradition of holding open, fair and clean elections. This was the Constitutional Affairs Bureau's response to legislator Margaret Ng's remarks in a radio broadcast today on the upcoming Chief Executive election.
It said both the Election Committee subsector elections in December and the CE election in March will be held according to the Basic Law and electoral legislation, and in an open and fair manner.
Any qualified person interested in standing as candidates can do so in accordance with the law.
