To prepare for the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events in Hong Kong, Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow will leave tomorrow for a four-day visit to Germany. He will learn more about import arrangements and care of the horses taking part.
He will attend the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, the biggest equestrian event before the 2008 Olympics, and meet with officials.
He will also meet the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture & Consumer Protection to discuss equine import and export arrangements, quarantine stables and health certification, along with the International Federation for Equestrian Sports and brief them on Hong Kong's import arrangements for the Olympics.
