Broadcasting deputy chief named 

Deputy Director-General of Telecommunications Gracie Foo has been appointed Deputy Director of Broadcasting to replace Raymond Ng who will retire on August 11. Ms Foo will assume duty on August 14.

 

Meanwhile, Assistant Director of the Office of the Telecommunications Authority Ha Yung-kuen has been appointed Deputy Director-General of Telecommunications to replace Ms Foo, effective today.

Senior appointments: Gracie Foo has been appointed Deputy Director of Broadcasting while Ha Yung-kuen has been appointed Deputy Director-General of Telecommunications.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology Francis Ho said the Government has followed established civil service policy and procedures to find the most suitable candidate within the civil service to be the Deputy Director of Broadcasting.

 

"I have every confidence in Ms Foo's ability to assist the Director of Broadcasting in RTHK's continued endeavour to pursue quality public broadcasting services with excellence, responsibility and integrity," he said.

 

Commenting on Mr Ha's appointment, Director-General of Telecommunications Au Man-ho said Mr Ha has been playing a pivotal role in formulating and executing telecoms regulatory policies over the years.

 

"I have every confidence that Mr Ha will continue to work effectively with the senior management team to enable OFTA to meet the challenges ahead," Mr Au added.
