Notification mechanism unaffected by 5-day week
*

The notification mechanism between Hong Kong and Mainland authorities over major public health and food safety incidents will continue to operate as normal following the implementation of the five-day week in the Government on July 1, the Health, Welfare & Food Bureau says.

The bureau will continue to liaise closely with its Mainland counterparts. The communication between the relevant liaison officers of the two places will not be interrupted after office hours or during public holidays. Both sides will maintain contact by phone or other means of communication.

With effect from July 1, the opening hours of the bureau will be from 8.45am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and the lunch break will be from 1pm to 2pm.
