The Chief Secretary for Adminstration's Office has approached the Indonesian Consul-General and relief organisations about providing aid to earthquake victims in Yogyakarta.
The agencies include Medecins Sans Frontieres, Oxfam, the Red Cross and World Vision. They were asked if funding was needed.
Director of Protocol Tony Nguyen contacted Indonesian Consul-General Paiman Turnip to ascertain the scope and type of aid needed.
To further relief efforts, the office will co-ordinate the work of relevant Government departments in delivering any required aid as soon as possible.
