Mainland development seminar to be held

*

National Development & Reform Commission Department of Development & Planning Deputy Director General Xu Lin will speak on the National 11th 5-Year Plan and its impact on Hong Kong at a seminar for civil servants on March 28.

Run by the Constitutional Affairs Bureau and the Civil Service Training & Development Institute, the seminar will enhance civil servants' understanding of the National 11th 5-Year Plan.

Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Stephen Lam said the Mainland's development during the period will have a profound impact on Hong Kong.

"With a better understanding of the 11th 5-Year Plan through the seminar, colleagues in relevant bureaux and departments can take this into account in planning for Hong Kong on various fronts, with a view to better capitalising our advantages in financial services, trade, logistics and professional services, to concur with the development of our country. This will also help maintain the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong," he said.

Mr Xu has taken part in the compilation of the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Five-Year Plans. During his Hong Kong visit, Mr Xu will take part in other seminars. He will also receive an update by Government bureaus and departments, and will visit key infrastructural facilities.
