Professor Lee Chack-fan and Tim Lui have been appointed to the Commission on Strategic Development to serve on the Committee on Governance & Political Development until June 30 next year.
Professor Lee, 60, is Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Chair Professor of Hong Kong University Department of Civil Engineering. He is the Chairman of the Harbour-front Enhancement Committee and Veterinary Surgeons Board, and a member of numerous government advisory bodies.
Mr Lui, 51, is a certified public accountant and is senior tax partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is the Chairman of the Employees' Compensation Insurance Levies Management Board and a member of numerous government advisory bodies.
The commission is an important advisory body to the Chief Executive on Hong Kong's long-term development needs and goals. The major task of the Committee on Governance & Political Development is to advise on the direction and strategies for political development and enhance the quality of governance.
