Certain fees for licences and Government services will rise 7% to 20% from March to May to achieve full cost recovery within seven years, the Financial Services & Treasury Bureau says.
Most of the fees were last revised in August 2000, and their cost-recovery levels range from 3% to 94% at the 2005-06 price level.
Four fees for services the Inland Revenue Department provides will be reduced to the full cost level in one go.
If the proposed fees and charge adjustments are implemented, it is estimated that they will cost the Government about $5.5 million in lost revenue in the first year.
