Cleresa Wong to head toy safety appeal panel

*

Cleresa Wong has been appointed to chair the appeal board panel on toys and children's products safety and four new members have been named for a two-year period from January 1, the Economic Development & Labour Bureau says.

The four new members are Man Hau-chung, Bill Chan, Chang Hon-tak and Stella Hu. The five retiring members are Chairman Ambrose Ho, Christopher Chung, Joseph Lai, Luk Wai-kong and Danny Ngai. Meanwhile, 12 members have been re-appointed.

The appeal board handles appeals against enforcement decisions or action the Commissioner of Customs & Excise takes under the Toys & Children's Products Safety Ordinance.

The new membership list includes:

* Chairperson Cleresa Wong;

* Deputy Chair Samuel Chan;

* scientists or technologists with relevant expertise in toys or children's products, including Chen Ke-zhang, Li Li-man, Man Hau-chung, Bertram Shi and Xu Yang-sheng;

* representatives from the toys and children's products industry including Samson Chan, Bill Chan, Chang Hon-tak, Yeung Chi-kong and Danny Yuen; and

* members of the general public including Don Liu, Mary Lee, Dr Matthew Ng, So Chiu Lai-ching and Stella Hu.
