Samson Tam has been re-appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and reappointed two other incumbent members, Paul Yin and Daniel Yip, as council members.

Six new members are also appointed, including Cheung Lai-ha, Choi Kam-wah, Fan Cheuk-hung, Victor Ng, Poon Siu-ping, and Cliff Sun.

The Innovation & Technology Commission said all appointments are for two years from January 1.

The council's role is to provide integrated support to innovative and growth-oriented Hong Kong firms.

The main focus is on manufacturing, particularly in Hong Kong's foundation industries, and related service activities; and its main geographic focus is Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.

The council provides support services in product development, consultancy, training and technology transfer.
