An independent survey shows the public wants the Government's constitutional reform package passed by the Legislative Council, Chief Executive Donald Tsang says.
Citing a Chinese University survey released today, Mr Tsang said it shows that while people want a timetable for universal suffrage, they also feel the package should be passed. More than half of the respondents said lawmakers should not veto the package. About 63% of respondents supported the proposals.
He urged lawmakers to act in accordance with the public's views and cast their votes to support the package.
