Land granted to build Heung Yee Kuk premises
*

The Executive Council has approved a Private Treaty Grant of land at nominal premium of $1,000 for Heung Yee Kuk to construct a new premises in Sha Tin, the Home Affairs Bureau says.

The new premises will house, among other things, a meeting hall, a library, an exhibition hall, and other ancillary facilities.

To foster better understanding of the New Territories culture and heritage, Heung Yee Kuk will open some of the facilities for public display of exhibits and documents relating to the history and development of the New Territories.

It plans to open more than 60% of the area in the new premises to the public.
