The Home Affairs Department will declare the office of Ng Chung-tak, an elected member of Kwun Tong District Council, vacant tomorrow.
In accordance with Section 24(5) of the District Councils Ordinance, Mr Ng was disqualified from holding office on July 22.
Under the relevant provisions, an elected member is disqualified from holding office for the remainder of his term of office if he does not attend meetings of the District Council for four consecutive months without obtaining the council's consent before the end of that period.
