Seasoned officer: Andrew Wong will be deployed to the Chief Executive's Office on August 1.

Special Representative for HK Economic & Trade Affairs to the European Communities Andrew Wong will be deployed to the Chief Executive's Office on August 1.

He will help oversee the running and operation of the office pending the appointment of a new director.

Aged 45, Mr Wong joined the Administrative Service in August 1982 and rose to his present rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade A in January 2001.

Mr Wong has served in various bureaus and departments including the former City & New Territories Administration, the former Office of Unofficial Members of the Executive & Legislative Councils, the former Education & Manpower Branch, the former Trade Department and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Geneva.

He was Administrative Assistant to the Chief Secretary from April 1994 to November 1997; Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic & Trade Affairs to the European Communities from December 1997 to August 2000; and Director of Administration from August 2000 to March 2004.
