The provisional registers of electors for 2005 have been released for public inspection until June 29. The final registers will be published by July 25.

The number of electors in the provisional register for geographical constituencies has risen by 8,000 to 3.216 million.

The number of electors in the provisional register for functional constituencies remains almost unchanged at 199,000.

All validated applications for registration as geographical and functional constituency electors and change of particulars are reflected in these provisional registers.

Also published are the omissions lists that contain names and particulars of those no longer eligible to have their names included.

Claim or objection

Anyone who has applied for registration, but does not find their name in the register, or whose name is included in an omissions list, or who finds their entries are incorrectly recorded, can lodge a notice of claim in person with the office by June 29.

Anyone who considers a person ineligible for registration can lodge an objection in person by June 29. Forms for claims and objections are available on the Registration & Electoral Office's website.

Full sets of the provisional register and omissions list for geographical constituencies are available for public inspection at the office at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai.

The relevant section of that register pertinent to a particular district is available at the respective District Office.

Full sets of the provisional register and omissions list for functional constituencies are available for public inspection at:

* 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai;

* 10/F Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai; and,

* Central & Western, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, Sha Tin and Tsuen Wan District Offices.
