Deputy Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Grace Lui is leading a team of Hong Kong government officials on a four-day visit to Yunnan Province, to enhance understanding of the area and foster closer working relations and communication between the governments of the two places.

This is the seventh visit Hong Kong Government officials have made to the Pan-Pearl River Delta region. The first six visits - to Hainan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Fujian, Hunan and Guangxi provinces - took place from December 2004 to April 2005.

The PPRD region includes nine provinces in the Mainland - Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan - and Hong Kong and Macau.

The delegation includes representatives from the Constitutional Affairs Bureau, which organised the trip, the Economic Development & Labour Bureau, Financial Secretary's Office, Highways Department, Planning Department, Central Policy Unit, Labour Department, Invest Hong Kong, Trade & Industry Department, Census & Statistics Department, Intellectual Property Department and Home Affairs Department.

Representatives from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board have also joined the tour.
