A total of 541 requests under the Code on Access to Information were received in the first quarter of the year, of which 91.1% were met and 2% refused.
The Home Affairs Bureau said the remaining 37 requests included referrals to other organisations, withdrawals by applicants and requests being processed.
This brings the number of requests received since the introduction of the code in March, 1995, to 17,494. Of these, 15,720 (89.9%) were met and 349 requests (2%) were refused.

In the first quarter, the Ombudsman received three complaints relating to the code. All complaints were concluded by the Ombudsman who rendered assistance/clarification to complainants after examination of their cases.
