New equal opportunities board named
*
Equal Opportunities Commision

The Acting Chief Executive has appointed 13 people to the new Equal Opportunities Commission board for two years with effect from May 20.

 

The new members are:

* Dr Edwin Cheng;

* Prof Randy Chiu;

* Virginia Choi;

* Chong Wong Chor-sar;

* Christine Koo;

* Lam Kam-yi;

* Dr Agnes Law;

* Dr Lo Wing-lok;

* Desmond Liu;

* Mandy Tam;

* Saeed Uddin;

* Margaret Wong; and

* Raymond Yip.

 

The Home Affairs Bureau said the new board, with a good mix of expertise and representatives from different sectors, will enable the commission to have a fresh start under the leadership of the recently appointed chairperson.

 

They will work with the commission to contribute towards a tolerant and harmonious society free from discrimination, it added.

 

The bureau also thanked retiring members for their service and advice in the past years.

 

The appointment notice will be gazetted on April 29.
