Equal Opportunities Commission Chairperson Patricia Chu will vacate the post on December 15 upon the expiry of her contract. The Home Affairs Bureau said today a new chairperson will be announced as soon as possible.

Mrs Chu has declined the Government's offer of re-appointment for personal reasons. The bureau said it respects the decision, and thanked her for her dedication and contribution to the commission in the past year.
