Almost 60% turnout at village by-elections

Two indigenous inhabitants, Pang Yiu Chor and Cheung Wai Kwok, were elected in the village representative by-elections in Fanling and Ham Tin, South Lantau which were held today with an overall turnout rate of 59.44%.

 

A total of 759 out of the 1,277 registered voters of the two villages cast their votes, and the voter turnout rate for Fanling is 60% and Ham Tin 53.57%.

 

In Fanling, Pang Yiu Chor beat his competitor Pang Cheung Yin by 380 to 301 votes; while in Ham Tin, Cheung Wai Kwok won the seat with 32 votes, against Cheung Kan Lin's 27 votes.
