By-election turnout at 14%

*

Some 1,300 of the 9,304 registered electors had cast their ballots in the Southern District Council Tin Wan Constituency by-election by 11.30am, representing a turnout of 13.9%.

Polling stations at SKH Tin Wan Chi Nam Primary School (1 Chi Nam Close, Tin Wan, Aberdeen) and the Caritas Aberdeen Social Centre (G/F, 22 Tin Wan Street, Aberdeen) will be open until 10.30pm. They will also be used as counting stations after polls close.

The six candidates are Chinese herbal doctor Chong Yui, marine engineer Fung Wa-hing, solicitor Wong Huk-kam, district councillor's office executive Chan Fu-ming, district councillor's office executive director Kwan Man-yau, and accountant Chan Pak-chuen.

The successful candidate will fill a seat that became vacant in early August after an incumbent district councillor was disqualified from holding office.
