The Central Policy Unit will invite a broad spectrum of young people from tertiary institutions, professional bodies, trade and industry sectors and various districts to join the first of three Discussion Forum for Young People sessions in mid-October.

As a trial scheme, three discussion sessions involving 20 people each will be organised to strengthen the Government's understanding of the views, sentiments and attitudes of our young people and encourage them to take greater interest in public affairs and government policy.

Arrangements will be reviewed after the three sessions.

The Chief Executive said in his 2004 Policy Address the Government will involve a broad spectrum of society in the formulation of policies. To better grasp public sentiments, the Government will strengthen the monitoring of public opinions and understanding of views and attitudes in various sectors.
