Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has written to Edmund Ho congratulating him on his re-election as the Macau Special Administrative Region Chief Executive.

Mr Ho was re-elected for a second term yesterday with 296 votes from the 299 Election Committee members.

Mr Tung said with the Mainland's staunch support and under Mr Ho's capable leadership, Macau has successfully implemented the principles of One Country, Two Systems and Macau People Running Macau since its reunification with the motherland in 1999.

Mr Tung said Macau will continue to build on its solid foundation to thrive and contribute to the prosperity and growth of the country.
