CE to attend HK-Guangdong joint conference
*

Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa will lead a delegation to attend the Seventh Plenary of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference in Guangzhou to be held on August 4.

Mr Tung and Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua will jointly preside over the meeting which will study the results of co-operation since the establishment of the new operation mechanism and framework of the joint conference at the Sixth Plenary last year.

They will discuss future co-operation items and matters, and Mr Tung and Mr Huang will brief the media afterwards.

The Hong Kong delegation includes Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang, other Principal Officials and Permanent Secretaries concerned, and Chief Executive's Office Director Lam Woon-kwong.

Mr Tung will leave for Guangzhou on August 3 and return to Hong Kong the next day.
