*
Tung Chee Hwa
Sincere message: Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa says sincerity can help close the communication gap between the Central Government and the Democratic Party.

Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa says sincerity can help close the communication gap between the Central Government and the Democratic Party.

Speaking after meetings with the party and the Article 45 Concern Group today, Mr Tung said the discussions were useful and he will regularly meet them and other parties in future.

Mr Tung said he positively responded to the democrats' request for assistance in getting home visit permits and improving their relations with the Central Government. He said sincerity can help create a good communication environment.

Noting universal suffrage is the community's ultimate goal, Mr Tung asked the democrats to play an active role in the Government's constitutional consultation work.

He said Hong Kong needs harmony, stability and mutual understanding and he invited every political party to work in this direction.

On Hong Kong's core values, Mr Tung reassured that the Government is committed to protecting these as they are the keys to the city's success.
