Edward Chan new MPFA non-executive director

Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority

Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has appointed Hong Kong Bar Association Chairman Edward Chan as the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority non-executive director from May 12 this year to March 16, 2006.

 

Mr Chan replaces Robert Tang who has resigned upon his recent appointment as a judge of the Court of First Instance.

 

Mr Chan has served on a number of boards and committees, and his experience and expertise will help him make valuable contribution to the authority's work.

 

The serving non-executive directors are from a diverse background, including professionals from the financial services, accounting and legal sectors, as well as representatives of employers and employees.

 

They are Eddy Fong, Lee Kai-ming, David Li, Lui Ming-wah, Tam Yiu-chung, Kenneth Ting and Anna Wu.
